Working-class White people actually thought that all their wealth and comfort came from their brilliance and hard work, not from White Privilege and Government Support. They also thought that Black poverty was a result of our laziness and immorality, not State repression of our development. As a result they spent decades voting for Rich Whites who promised to free them from government regulation and the destruction of the social safety. Now they want to blame their misfortune on immigrants and petty Black criminals. These people would be funny if they were not so well armed and sociopathic.
