Mo’Nique: Lee Daniels Said I Was ”Blackballed” After Oscar Win
I read an interview a few years back were Mo’Nique stated that Lee Daniels told her that she would be hated by the Black community for
accepting the role of the mother in Precious (film), she responded “let
em hate me;” because she could care less about the opinion of the Black
community and how she portrayed Black mothers on the big screen.
Now we have her complaining about being “Blackballed” by Hollywood, she
dun pissed off White folks some how, but I don’t think she’s taking the same “let em hate me,” attitude towards being “Blackballed” by the power structure in the movie industry.
I think we need to start officially “Whiteballing” some of these folks myself, I’m kinda tired this nonsense.
Due to the sacrifices of our ancestors our Artistic elites have had
over half a century to build independent media and entertainment
infrastructures, but they’ve chose to remain fully integrated and
dependent on Hollywood no matter how much racism they must endure to sit
at Massa’s table. Crying about not getting Oscar nominations or being
Blackballed in the year 20-fucking-15, SMH; come the fuck on! They got
billions of dollars and endless talent between them, but they still
allow others to call the shots.
On top of that, they feed us a diet of anti-African images and propaganda worse than anything Cecil B. DeMille could have imagined.
