Diallo’s Conspiracy Corner: The Elba Effect.
Here we go again, the White Propagandist are at it yet again. We have Idris Elba an articulate, talent, poised, and globally recognizable Africa Artist; and the White Media Apparatus can’t stand it.
He’s manged to stay above the drug traps, the “say something…
Naw, kid…. How many mainstream thriller films do “we” have? Halle Berry did “The Call”…. I think this is going up be a really good film. Finally we get see some variety in our black actors. I don’t see black women portrayed as the damsel in distress too often in cinema…and it’s good to see Idris portray the “bad guy”. Let’s try to be optimistic people!
OK. Optimism mandates that we forget the centuries of anti-African propaganda produced by this system, and the negative impacts of such media on our community; from ‘Birth of a Nation,’ (look it up), up to today film has been used as a weapon against Black people, but it will all be smoothed over with Optimism. Let’s just shut down our critical and historical thinking caps, and be entertained.
Let’s even overlook the fact that two Black folks in recent months suffered car crashes, and were murdered as the sought help, I’m sure this movie has absolutely no connection to this movie, not even subconsciously. Optimism!
Yeah, optimism; good idea, I’ll get busy telling the Brothers and Sisters in Ferguson, and those enslaved in the US prison system, and the millions of us living in multigenerational poverty to be optimistic; you can tell our folks to be optimistic internationally, start with the Congo, the Ebola plagued nations of West Africa, and Haiti, and then branch out from there. Optimism, why that hell haven’t we thought of that until now.
