“Did you know that Brain Drain is a major problem afflicting the African Continent, and the “drainage” of Intellectual Resources is just as criminal as the theft of Material Resources?” How is Africans getting educated major problem? How this Brain drainage effecting Africa?

For clarity, Anonymous was directly quoting me, word for word here: “Did you know that Brain Drain is a major problem afflicting the African Continent, and the “drainage” of Intellectual Resources is just as criminal as the theft of Material Resources?”

I made this comment in response to some Black folks bragging about the high educational achievement of African immigrants in the US.  I said some other shit too, but I wont burden the response with the complete statement, I’ll just respond to Anon’s questions.

  1. Dr. Bobby E. Wright correctly articulated that; “an education sets you up and allows you to solve your own problems, training only sets you up to solve other people’s problems."  He also stated that "your enemy cannot educate you, they can give you training, and even skills, but your education must come from your community and culture."  So with that understanding, I can say with all confidence that there is absolutely nothing wrong with Africans getting education, nothing at all; hell I’m an educated African, I’m married to an educated African; we strongly emphasized education to our children; so Africans getting educated is not a problem for me, it’s the solution.  Unfortunately, what we often call education is little more than training; we can tell the difference based on the outcomes, not the process.
  2. Brain Drain is hampering Africa’s ability to sustainably develop and defend itself form foreign exploitation and internal corruption; it is also feeding and aiding the enemies of Africa.

(Proud of myself, I keep this response short, I’m working on my brevity.)
