I have to stop accusing Black Christians of practicing “a White man’s Religion.”
I also need to apologize for mislabeling them: “fucking sorry, OK?”
Black Christians don’t practice White Christianity. Since its
founding, or more accurately; since Europeans embraced Christianity
wholesale, there have been two basic forms of Christianity; I’m not
talking about denominations, sects, or Protestants vs. Catholics; the
two basic forms of Christianity is the Christianity of the Master/Elites and the Christianity of the Slave/Serf/Plebs.
White Christians are gun totting, they are unforgiving, and far from
passive, they don’t wait for wealth or salvation to fall from the sky;
White Christianity is a world away from Black Christianity in most
respects, that’s why the Christian churches are the most segregated
places in the US.
So, I may even stop encouraging Black people
from abandoning Christianity, and start telling them to practices White
or Master Christianity instead of Slave Christianity.
