I’m not the most cultured dude out here, but I’ve always appreciated poetry, theater, and music that articulates and fuels African Liberation.

It was Chinweizu Ibekwe who wrote that when an artist is a member of an oppressed or colonized people, then they are obligated to use their talents on behalf of the liberation/decolonization struggle (paraphrase), or their art will be irrelevant at best, and serve to further oppress their people at worst.

Amiri Baraka embodies that mandate, he used his immense talent to inspire and advance African unity and resistance.

Thank you Amiri Baraka.
